Auto insurance coverage?

So I have an older car (7yrs old) and am carrying full cover on it, and am wondering if it's time to pare down to just liability coverage. Fair market value is between $7000 - $8000 and it has only 70k miles and runs well. With the economy the way it is and a one income family, would it be wise to drop my level of coverage just to save a few dollars?
