The fact that you are not married means that your girlfriend cannot be with you during basic tarining and whatever advanced training youy sign up for - you'll be living in barracks on base/post and will not have an apartment or government quarters. As for college, you'll not have time for that between training and deployments, except for night courses. The government will not pay you BAH - you would have to find someplace for them to live , and most off-base housing that an E-1/E-2 could afford you would not want your child living in
