Divorced mom got DUI, how to insure car for 17y/o son?

I'm a 17 year old guy living in New Jersey. My mom recently was convicted of driving under the influence, and I had been looking for a car to buy for myself for the summer. Now that she can't drive till the fall, we were wondering if I could get her toyota insured for myself. My mom is divorced from my dad, and I don't know if she can hold auto insurance as a DUI offender. Can she get insurance for me without being on the plan? I know i can't have my own policy because I'm only 17. Does she have to sell the car to me?
